A pair of Falcon sophomores received top honors for the 2009-10 season UW River Falls Women’s Basketball Postseason Banquet

A pair of Falcon sophomores received top honors for the 2009-10 season Sunday (April 11) at the UW River Falls Women’s Basketball Postseason Banquet at Falcon Nest. Maranda Dohrn took home the Most Outstanding Defensive Player  Award, while Tiffany Gregorich was named teams Most Outstanding Offensive Player Award and best Free Throw Shooter. These two helped the Falcons team to a very successful  18-win season, finishing 18-7 overall and tied for third in the WIAC.

All three awards are based on stats. The defensive player award is calculated by adding defensive rebounds, steals and blocks, then subtracting fouls. The offensive award is total points plus assists and offensive rebounds less turnovers. The free throw shooting is based on best % made.
