Gregorich, Pellowski lead Falcons to win over UWS

Tiffany Gregorich scored 27 points, and Lauren Pellowski scored a career-high 18 as the Falcons beat the UW-Superior Yellowjackets, 73-52. UWRF is now 5-0 in overall play. Gregorich and Pellowski led all scorers. Gregorich shot 9-12 from the field and 3-5 from behind the arc. She also shot 6-7 from the free throw line. Pellowski went 6-10 from the field and 3-4 from the three-point line, and 3-4 from the charity stripe. Alise Holst and Kelli Hilt contributed six and five points respectively. Kelsey Thingvold led the Yellowjackets with 10 points. Gregorich , Hilt and Maranda Dohrn each had six rebounds in the game, behind Superior’s Hailey Hart, who had seven. As a team, the Falcons only had 12 turnovers, half of what UWS had, finishing with 24 on the game. UWRF shot 43.9 percent (25-57) from the field and 36.8 percent (7-19) from the three-point line. This win was the first in conference season play for the Falcons, putting them at 1-0 in the WIAC. The team’s next game is against UW-Stevens Point, currently ranked #15 team in the Country, on Saturday at the Karges Center. The game will tip off at 3 p.m.
