Coach Holbrook announced the UWRF Falcons Women’s Backcourt Club today. The Backcourt Club is new for the 2009-2010 basketball season.  “As we were planning for this new season” Coach Holbrook said “we wanted to create a Club for our fans to connect more with our program and players . The Backcourt Club was designed to create a great value for our fans while creating a new fundraising method for our program.” Coach added, ” Our players recognize the faces of our fans at our games; now they get a chance to know them personally at our socials and thank them for their support as well as welcome them to our program.”

The Backcourt Club has several different levels of membership. You can be an active member in the Club for as little as $15 to $24. This level is the “Little Buddy” membership. This level is for high school and younger fans.

It includes:

*Backcourt Club T-shirt

*Game day ball kid

*Locker room tour

*Pre and post game socials with our players and Coaches

*Two tickets to one home games.

For the fan older than high school your membership starts at $25 to $49. It includes all the benefits as the “Little Buddy” plus two tickets to two home games.

As the contribution increases, the member will get additional benefits including:

*Draw string shoe bag

*Long sleeve T-shirt

* Additional game day tickets

*Falcon sweatshirt

*Season ticket passes to all home games

“We have seven different membership levels designed for just about any fan” Coach Holbrook added, “all the way to the highest level of membership. The “All American” is for contributions of over $500. This was designed for our family or corporate plan”

The All American level includes:

*Three T-shirts

*Two Falcon sweatshirts

*Two Falcon long sleeve T-shirts

*Game day ball kid and locker room tour

*Invitation to pre and post game socials with our players and Coaches

*Draw string shoe bags

*Two season passes to all home games

The contributions raised from the Backcourt Club will assist the Falcon Women’s basketball program with many increasing expenses in running the program. “These funds will allow us to fund our travel expenses so our players can travel healthier, aid in our recruiting expenses, purchase new equipment and uniforms as needed and sponsor team socials and the year end  banquet.” said Coach Holbrook.

Falcon Women Kick Off Preseason Weight Training and Conditioning

Posted by Falcons Fan on September 16, 2009

After several weeks of open gym the Falcon Women’s Basketball players start their preseason weight training and conditioning work this week.

Working with Coach Carmen Pata, Director of Athletic Performance, the players are working on increasing their strength to prepare themselves for the upcoming season. Playing in one of the strongest conference’s in the nation, the WIAC, the players must make themselves stronger and more explosive to rise in the conference standings. The weight training along with the conditioning work will allow the players to hit the first day of pratice in mid-October in great shape.

Coach Holbrook said “We’re fortunate to have an outstanding Strength & Conditioning program at River Falls with coaches that really care about helping our players improve athletically.  Our basketball staff doesn’t get to work with our team until October 15, but they see a lot of Coach Pata before then.  To be successful in our conference our student-athletes have to work hard all year long, and this pre-season preparation for our season is especially important.”
